In 2003, with numerous City Beautification awards under their belt, the Trimark Properties Development Team set out to design and develop another breathtaking luxury apartment complex near the UF campus. Stratford Court would become Trimark Properties’ third major development in under three years. The resulting community epitomizes the team’s mission of providing unique luxury housing near UF while at the same time, beautifying the city of Gainesville.
Stratford Court was designed and developed with two major goals in mind for the residents: luxury and location. For those unwilling to sacrifice one for the other, Stratford Court became a popular alternative from the standard Gainesville apartment complex. From Stratford Court, residents would be able to walk from their front doors directly to their classrooms. Located just steps away from the UF campus behind Norman Hall, residents knew they would not need to bother with unreliable, crowded busses in the mornings. The resulting demand caused Stratford Court to be fully pre-leased before construction was completed.
The apartment complex includes two distinct phases. Phase I includes renovated historic buildings while Phase II consists of newly constructed buildings containing luxury apartments. As always, the Trimark Properties Development Team designed the community to compliment the surrounding neighborhood and to be incredibly aesthetically pleasing. The new buildings in Phase II meld seamlessly with the classically elegant style of the historic buildings. Stratford Court is not your typical, drab, “box-like” Gainesville apartment community. Exterior building features include an attractive mix of stucco, brick, timber, natural stone and shakes.
In order to foster the community atmosphere of the development, Trimark designed a formal internal courtyard. Within the surrounding decorative fencing, attractive landscaping and hardscaping join the buildings to create a friendly community atmosphere. Features include a trickling water fountain, brick patios, oversized balconies and peaceful gathering areas. Individual porch swings sway lazily under the Gainesville sun, with the faint sound of trickling water just reaching the private balconies.
But Stratford Court has more to offer than endearing charm. A cutting-edge Ethernet network runs within each historic home and luxury apartment. Assigned parking has also been added to the community since its completion. Stratford Court offers a perfect blend of historic allure and modern convenience that makes it one of the only true “luxury” apartment complexes near the University of Florida.
Residents living at Stratford Court find themselves living in mini-neighborhood like you’d find in New Orleans or Savannah: the landscaping, the design and the architecture are unlike anything else available in Gainesville.
