The “Camden Court” community was first discussed by architects and planners during a unique meeting in 2004. Together they were brainstorming ideas for providing ideal urban apartments close to the University of Florida campus. The Development Team recognized an ever-decreasing supply in on-campus parking and the continually increasing demand to live on the desirable “13th Street side of campus” next to where the majority of classes congregate. The team was approached by the owner of an underdeveloped property with an ideal location close to campus, within two blocks of the heart of the UF Business School, Fine Arts, Education and Administration buildings. They knew that this unique parcel represented one of the best locations in Gainesville for UF faculty, staff, and students, allowing them to walk to their classes and jobs—or to downtown restaurants and local nightlife. The Development Team drew on their successful experiences with the award-winning Royale Palms, Heritage Oaks, and Stratford Court projects. After purchasing the property (located 1 block from Criser Hall at UF), they began to lay the groundwork for the community which would become Camden Court.
Through their efforts, the team highlighted the elements of the historic homes in the neighborhood and modern luxury apartments already built by Trimark Properties. Once completed, Camden Court will include two, three and four bedroom luxury apartments designed to accentuate and reflect the historic structures in the immediate neighborhood for scale and scope. On the exterior, stone, stucco and brick elements seamlessly fit the luxury apartment buildings in the historic neighborhood. Complete with over- sized walk-up garden porches and swings, these apartment buildings have a strong historic charm, rather than the standard box-like look found in inferior contemporary apartment complexes.
With its attractive and charming exterior, Camden Court aims to create a community atmosphere. Attractive landscaping and hardscaping are accented with increased lighting to the neighborhood increasing pedestrian traffic. Trimark Properties also designed a formal internal courtyard with a “secret garden” charm. Added features include a trickling water fountain, patios, and gathering areas. Individual porch swings beckon from porches overlooking the lush landscaping.
Groundbreaking began in early September 2006, and Camden Court will open its doors during July 2007. Eager and excited residents will be able to move in August 2007 and will enjoy a long list of luxury amenities such as walk-up porches with modern porch swings, wine racks, art nooks, accent walls, sunrooms, elevated ceilings, crown molding, and pre-wired phone and cable, individual washer/dryers, pre-installed ceiling fans, dishwashers, and built-in microwaves. Oversized porcelain tiling, in attractive earth tones, line the gourmet kitchens and upscale bathrooms. Upgraded wood cabinetry will be used throughout. Pedestal sinks and full size tubs will be included in each bathroom.
For those in search of a luxury apartment next to UF, Camden Court offers a unique solution. Trimark Properties is now signing new leases for August 2007 move-in. The many residents who have remained on waitlists to move into Royale Palms, Stratford Court, Heritage Oaks in previous years (due to the very high demand) will find this to be an ideal solution to their needs.
Camden Court exemplifies the high quality development for which Trimark Properties is known. For detailed community and apartment features, see the pictures above or CLICK HERE for floor plans and rental rates.
